Karen is an experienced writing teacher and tutor. She has taught writing classes to all ages for various institutions including Ivy West, Kaplan, the Monica Learning Center, and 826 Valencia, and was a teaching assistant at San Francisco State University. In 2006, she was selected to be an English Language Fellow for the State Department in Guatemala City, where she taught English and Journalism to university students and at the local major newspapers.
